Cauvin Bank

The Cauvin Bank formation is a shallow water, reef-topped, platform located 6.5 km off the southeastern edge of the Great Chagos Bank and 46 km directly north from Diego Garcia. The platform is circular-shaped, measuring 4 km across covering an area of around 12 km². The shallowest regions are found in the north, where minimum depths of between 9 and 11 m occur.
