Kolhumadulu Atoll (Thaa Atoll) is a large atoll of the southern Maldives, located 16 km south from Nilandhoo Atoll and 32 km northwest across the Velmandu Channel from Hadhdhunmathee Atoll. The atoll is approximately circular in shape (the angle of the above image creates a distorted view), measuring 52 km east to west and 44 km north to south. There are 66 small islands in total — none larger than 1 km² — scattered around the atoll perimeter from the northeast to southwest, with a combined land area of 8.9 km².
