Moore Reefs

- MODIS image
- date unknown
Located in the northern regions of the central group of reefs of the Queensland Plateau are the two small reefs (North More Reef and South Moore Reef) that comprise the Moore Reefs — they are visible very faintly at the left side of the image — the pair are separated from one another by 5 km. North Moore Reef, the larger component (8 km²), contains a solitary sand cay.
Near the centre of the image and running northwards is the darker outline of the large submarine Dianne Bank. 80 km to the east of the Moore Reefs are the islets and reefs of the Willis Group, while at the bottom right of the image, a further 40 km to the southwest are the Magdelaine Cays.
