Maiana

An atoll of the North Gilbert Islands, Maiana is located 28 km to the south of Tarawa. Measuring 14 km in length and 9.5 km across the atoll consists of a single narrow island occupying the east and northeast sides of the formation. The western side of the atoll is completely submerged in shallow waters.
