The solitary island of Jabwot lies in the Ralik chain, 12 km to the northeast of the atoll of Ailinglaplap. The island is small, measuring 1.2 km in length (north to south), with an area of just 0.6 km². The island is surrounded by a fringing reef system with extensive shallow water reef environments that extend for several kilometers beyond the outer reef to the north and south.
