Manono lies 3 km off the western tip of Upolu and takes the form of a low, conical-shaped island of approximately 2.4 km length and 1.5 km in width, covering an area of 2.90 km². It sits entirely within the barrier and fringing reef complex that surrounds much of its larger neighbour.
Also visible in the above image, at the western extremity of the reef, is the small island of Nu'ulopa.
