Takaroa

Takaroa is an elongted and narrow atoll of the northwestern regions of the archipelago, located 12 km northeast from Takapoto. The atoll measures 26 km in length (orientated northeast to southwest) and averages 7 km across. The narrow reef rim (60 km in length) encloses a central lagoon of nearly 90 km² in area.
