Vahitahi

Vahitahi is a small and narrow atoll measuring around 5 km in length, located in the Centre East Group of atolls 40 km southeast from Akiaki and 52 km north from Nukutvake. On the leeward side of Vahitahi there are around a dozen motu with an area of 2.5 km², while the exposed windward side consists largely of submerged to partially submerged reef. The central lagoon is shallow with no passage connecting it to the open sea.
