Île Alofi

Alofi, Îles de Horne

Alofi, located less than 2 km southeast from Futuna, across the Saine Channel, covers an area of 32 km² measuring around 10 km in length and 5 km in width (north to south). Like its larger neighbour (whose Vele Point is visible at the upper-left of the above image), Alofi is mountainous, reaching a height of 416 m above sea level at the summit of Mont Kolofau. The island is uninhabited and represents one of the least disturbed of the Polynesian islands.
